CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team returns to action this weekend as the Lady Choctaws (6-5, 0-4 Gulf South Conference) host the University of West Georgia and the University of West Alabama. Friday's match against UWG is slated for 7 p.m. while Saturday's affair against UWA is tabbed for 1 p.m.

Mississippi College looks to snap a four-game skid and clinch its first, Gulf South Conference win of the season. The Lady Choctaws picked up their first two conference wins since returning to Division II last season against West Georgia.

MC is led offensively by
Jenna Campbell's 91 kills. The League City, Texas, native's total ranks eighth in the conference. The duo setter threat of
Bailee Berringer and
Sydney Chandler have totaled 313 of the team's 402 assists. Berringer leads the team with 162 - ninth in the league - while Chandler has 151, which ranks 11th in the GSC.

Madison Kimes and
Kayana Mitchell lead MC's defensive effort.
Madison Kimes ranks fourth in the GSC in digs. The Madison, Miss., product has 148 total digs on the season. Mitchell's 34 total blocks ranks sixth in the league.

The series between Mississippi College and West Georgia is deadlocked at three wins each. The Lady Choctaws evened the series after a season sweep of the Wolves last season with a pair of 3-1 victories.

Katie Hanson leads the Red and Blue with 78 kills on the season while Madi Fleming has dished out 205 assists. Defensively for the Wolves, Devon Dickey has 84 digs along with Jaida Allen's 36 total blocks.

West Alabama leads the all-time series against MC with an 11-4 advantage. The Tigers have claimed five straight in the series with the Navy and Gold's last win coming on Aug. 21, 2002 in 3-1 fashion.

Briana Sandifer leads the Tigers offensively with 191 - the best in the Gulf South Conference. Callie Murphy has 468 assists on the campaign - which also leads the conference. Yanesha Johnson leads the Red and White in digs with 144 while Jamie Lancellot has a team-best 31 blocks.
West Alabama and West Georgia meet in Livingston, Ala., on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m.

Following the weekend slate, Mississippi College hits the road for a four-game, road swing, which includes three GSC outings. The road trip begins on Tuesday, Sept. 27 as they travel to West Florida for a 5 p.m. outing. Other stops during the span include matches at Alabama-Huntsville and North Alabama along with a neutral site contest against Miles in Huntsville.
