Last Game: The Warhawks traveled to Pensacola, Fla. to face GSC opponent West Florida, falling 80-61. AUM could not overcome a slow start that saw them trail 39-18 at the break. Eager led the team with 18 points off the bench.

GAME NOTES
- The Choctaws are 1-0 all-time against AUM, picking up an 82-71 victory on November 26, 1994 in Clinton.
- The Choctaws are 18-2 in their last 20 season openers with the only losses coming in the 2006-07 and 2011-12 seasons.
- MC head coach Don Lofton is just three wins shy of 200 career victories, going 197-120 (.621) over his 12 seasons at the helm.
- This is MC's first season back in Division II and the Gulf South Conference after completing the transition process in the summer of 2016. The Choctaws' last appearance in the GSC Tournament came in the 1995-96 season.
- Auburn Montgomery is entering their first provisional year transitioning to Division II and the Gulf South Conference.
- The Warhawks have played two GSC opponents in their first three games of 2016-17, falling to Union (71-64) and West Florida (80-61).
