CLINTON, Miss. --- Mississippi College starts the second half of Gulf South Conference play on Wednesday, Oct. 13 as the Lady Choctaws (8-10, 1-9 GSC) travel to Valdosta, Ga., to face Valdosta State University. Match time is set for 5 p.m. central.

MC looks to snap a five-game skid to the Blazers after falling 3-0 against VSU earlier this season in Clinton.

The Lady Choctaws are riding a two-game skid entering the contest at The Complex on Wednesday. MC dropped a pair of contests at then, nationally-ranked North Alabama and against Lee University on Saturday.

Jenna Campbell continues to lead the Navy and Gold offensively. The League City, Texas, native has totaled 139 kills on the campaign, including 66 in conference play.
Kayana Mitchell, who ranks among the career leaders in kills, is one shy of breaking the 100-plateau.

The setter duo of
Bailee Berringer and
Sydney Chandler pilot the MC offense. Berringer has distributed 274 assists while Chandler had 245 on the season. Both setters rank among the career leaders.

Madison Kimes,
Jamila Biglow and Mitchell lead the Lady Choctaws defensively. Kimes has registered 232 digs while Mitchell has a team-best 50 blocks while Biglow has 43. Mitchell, a native of Southaven, Miss., also ranks among the career leaders in block assists and total blocks.

Valdosta State enters the midweek contest riding a two-game win streak. The Red and Black notched wins on its home floor over the weekend against North Alabama and UAH - sweeping both affairs.

VSU is led by Susanna Peonia's 226 kills on the season. Peonia is one of three Blazers with 100-plus kills on the year as Antia Rodriguez-Sanchez has 161 and Tristyn Sells has 131. Carly Smart paces the Red and Black with 338 assists.

Defensively, Sydney Chick has 267 digs while Ashley Miller has recorded 52 blocks. Peonia is second on the team with 44 blocks.

Following the midweek, conference outing, Mississippi College travels to Orlando, Fla., to take part in the South Region Volleyball Crossover. MC is set to face Florida Tech, Embry-Riddle and Rollins College from the Sunshine State Conference beginning on Friday, Oct. 14.
