CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team dropped a three-set match on Sunday to the University of West Florida at A.E. Wood Coliseum.
The Lady Choctaws (4-13, 0-10 GSC) fell behind early in the first two sets and could not recover, dropping the first set to the Argos (14-2, 8-2 GSC) by a score of 25-13 and the second set, 25-15. In the third set, MC grabbed an early 3-2 lead, but UWF stormed back for the 25-14 match-clinching win.
Freshman
Madison Girndt had six kills with no errors for the Lady Choctaws, posting a .353 hitting percentage. Freshman
Taylor Edwards had seven kills and just one error for a .429 hitting percentage. Freshman
Krista Zieschang also finished the match with six kills. Freshman
Sydney Chandler led the team with 12 assists, while senior
Holly Tupper had a team-high eight digs.
Sarah Scott had a match-high 11 kills and just one error for a .667 hitting percentage to lead the Argos. Monique StCyr had a team-high 16 assists, while KC Dobbins was just behind with 15 helpers. UWF had 6.0 total blocks, led by Michelle Bulnes with one solo and two assisted stops.
The Lady Choctaws will be back in action on Tuesday night when they travel to Livingston to face West Alabama at 7:00 p.m. The Lady Tigers handed MC a four-set loss in Clinton back on September 9th.
