CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team opened their two-match homestand with a 3-0 loss to North Alabama on Friday night in A.E. Wood Coliseum.
In the first set, the Lady Choctaws (4-15, 0-12 GSC) grabbed an 18-16 lead, forcing the Lady Lions (12-6, 9-4 GSC) to call a timeout. UNA would go on to score nine of the next 10 points to take the first set, 25-19. After jumping out to an early lead and taking the second set, 25-13, North Alabama would jump out again and pick up the sweep with a 25-19 victory in the third set.

Ashton King had a team-high seven kills, while freshman
Taylor Edwards had six. Freshman
Sydney Chandler led the way with 13 assists, while senior
Holly Tupper had a team-high 15 digs. Edwards also led the team with three service aces in the match.
The Lady Lions, who tallied a .282 hitting percentage, were led by Megan Wadsworth with 14 kills and no errors in 19 attacks. As a team, UNA had 17 kills and no errors on 35 attacks. Andrea De Leon had a team-high 25 assist, while Ashtyn Kapovich led the way with 15 digs.
The Lady Choctaws will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when they host Union (Tenn.) at 2:30 p.m.
