Sophomore Mikeba Jones has been named the Mississippi College Merit Health Female Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday (Nov. 18).
Jones (Fort Wayne, Ind.) averaged 14.0 points and 7.0 rebounds, shooting 50% from the floor against Arkansas-Monticello and Southern Arkansas.
On Saturday, in an overtime loss to SAU, Jones went 7-of-13 from the field and scored 17 points with six rebounds, five assists and five steals. She also scored 11 points with eight rebounds against UAM.
On the season, Jones is averaging 14.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, shooting 52% from the field and 72% from the free throw line.
Jones and the Lady Choctaws will be back in action this Saturday when they open Gulf South Conference play at home against West Alabama at 2:00 p.m. in A.E. Wood Coliseum.
