Senior Marcus Lytle has been named the Mississippi College Renasant Bank Male Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday (Dec. 3).
Lytle (Memphis, Tenn.) averaged 20.0 points and 4.5 rebounds over a 1-1 week that saw the Choctaws erase a 17-point second half deficit in a 74-69 win over Motnevallo on Thursday night.
Lytle scored a season-high 27 points on Saturday at West Alabama as the Choctaws took the Tigers to overtime before falling, 81-79. On the week, the East Central Univ. transfer shot 54% (13-of-24) from the floor and led the team with three blocked shots.
Lytle and the Choctaws will welcome Pensacola Christian to Clinton on Saturday (Dec. 8) at 4:00 p.m. in A.E. Wood Coliseum.
