CLINTON, Miss. --- Mississippi College distance standout
Lauren Wallace has been named to the prestigious Gulf South Conference Top Ten, recognizing the league's top student-athletes for excellence in academics, athletics and community involvement.
Wallace becomes the latest Choctaw to earn one of the conference's highest honors and adds her name to an elite list of GSC student-athletes celebrated for achievements beyond competition. The GSC Top Ten program has recognized the conference's premier all-around student-athletes since 2005.
A standout in cross country and track & field, Wallace assembled one of the most decorated seasons in Mississippi College history during the 2025-26 academic year. She earned USTFCCCA Indoor First Team All-America honors in the mile after a dominant cross country campaign that included the 2025 NCAA Division II South Region Championship and Gulf South Conference individual title.
Wallace was also named the 2025 USTFCCCA Cross Country South Region Athlete of the Year and collected First Team All-GSC honors following her conference championship performance.
In the classroom, Wallace has consistently excelled as one of Mississippi College's top student-athletes. She earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors, was named to the GSC All-Academic Team twice and is a three-time member of the GSC Academic Honor Roll. She also earned recognition on the Mississippi College Dean's List.
Away from competition and academics, Wallace has made a lasting impact through leadership and service. She serves as president of Kappa Delta Pi, works as a Mississippi College scout, volunteers teaching children and provides mentoring and service within her local church community.
Wallace joins a distinguished group of recent Choctaw honorees, including McCall Lee (2023-24), Erin Hederman (2022-23), Emma Young and Gabe Poulin (2021-22), Tytavia Hardy (2020-21), Katie Taylor (2019-20), Blaine Crim (2018-19) and Andrea McDonald (2017-18).
The GSC Top Ten honor recognizes student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional achievement in athletics, academics and community engagement while representing the highest ideals of collegiate athletics.
