DAHLONEGA, Ga. --- No. 21 MC baseball dropped the final game of the weekend series, falling 10-0 in seven innings to No. 29 North Georgia on Sunday, Feb. 8. The Choctaws (3-4) managed just three hits, while UNG (6-1) capitalized with two home runs and eight RBI.

JT Thigpen provided the three MC hits – marking the first of the season for Thigpen and Elbourne.

The Nighthawks surged ahead in the fourth inning with a decisive sequence that included a solo home run and capitalized on an error, leading to four runs. MC faced mounting pressure as a pair of unearned runs followed a miscue, widening the gap.

MC had opportunities to shift momentum early in the game. In the first inning, a walk to Gadman and subsequent free bases loaded the bases, but the rally ended with a strikeout. Later, in the fourth,
Alex Johnson and Thigpen reached scoring positions, only for the inning to conclude without a score. The Blue and Gold tried to spark a rally in the sixth with a single by Sanderson and a walk, but the threat was extinguished, leaving runners stranded

The Choctaws sent four arms to the mound during the contest,
Tyler Swann (0-1) tossed the opening 1.1 frames, allowing three runs on no hits while walking three batters and hitting three others while totaling four strikeouts.
Taylor Ballard,
Kamryn Carlisle and
Carter Wells combined for the following 4.2 frames in relief.

Adam Duval (1-0) delivered a strong outing, pitching six scoreless innings, permitting just two hits while striking out four to earn the win. Reliever Ryan Hunt closed with a scoreless inning, allowing one hit and striking out one.
