DAHLONEGA, Ga. --- MC baseball fell to North Georgia 17-4 on Saturday, Feb. 7, moving to 3-3 on the season while the Nighthawks improved to 4-1. The Choctaws managed eight hits, including a home run, but committed three errors in the field.

Alex Johnson led the team with three hits, including a double and a home run. The home run is his third of the season and fourth of his career.
Cade Gadman contributed with a hit and two RBI, and defensively, he recorded five assists at shortstop.
Tyler Sanderson added two hits and scored once while
Gavin Baxter collected a double and scored a run.

UNG got off to fast start, putting up seven runs through three innings and claiming an 8-1 lead through four complete. The Blue and Gold plated its first run in the top of the fourth as

MC added two more runs in the fifth off a two-run single from Gadman and added another in the sixth off Johnson's solo home run. The Nighthawks added three in the bottom of the sixth and plastered six runs on the scoreboard in the eighth.

Connor Pittman (0-2) took the loss on the mound, with two innings in the start, allowing six runs on four hits, issuing three walks and two hit batters. He was one of five arms to see action on the bump for the Blue and Gold. UNG starter Kevin Cox (1-0) logged the victory, going six innings with five strikeouts, allowing four runs on seven hits.

Hunter Thompson paced the Blue and White with four hits while four Nighthawks drove in multiple runs, led by Schley Gordy with five RBI.
