HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Mississippi College (9-12, 6-9 Gulf South) fell to UAH (15-7, 10-6 Gulf South) 97-87 in a high-scoring contest on Saturday at SportsMED Arena in Spragins Hall. The Choctaws scored 42 points in the paint, but it wasn't enough to overcome UAH's 16 three-pointers.
The game began with Mississippi College establishing an early advantage, as
Josh Holman scored a layup and
Avaughn Johnson added a tip-in for a 4-0 lead.
Judah Land's dunk extended the visiting team's lead to 6-0 at 18:09. UAH responded with a 3-pointer from Matthew Thurman at 17:54 to narrow the gap. Knute Wood's 3-pointer at 9:56 helped UAH take the lead, contributing to a 26-20 advantage. By the end of the first half, UAH led 52-33, with Thomas Allard's jumper in the final minute adding to their lead.
UAH maintained their lead throughout the second half despite a strong offensive effort from MC.
Phil Nelson sparked a series of three-pointers early in the half, cutting into UAH's lead. However, UAH responded with consistent scoring from Thomas Allard, including a pair of free throws at the 11:56 mark that extended their advantage. The Blue and Gold's

DeMarcus Powe combined for several key baskets in the paint, narrowing the gap late in the game. Ultimately, UAH secured a 97-87 victory, holding off MC's late surge.
