NASHVILLE, Tenn. --- MC women's basketball dropped an 87-77 contest at Trevecca Nazarene, despite a strong 26-point effort in the fourth quarter, on Thursday, Feb. 19. The Choctaws (9-16, 8-12 Gulf South Conference) recorded a season-high eight blocks, but TNU's 50 rebounds and nine 3-pointers proved decisive.

Karly Ivy led the Choctaws with 20 points, marking the second time this season she has scored 20-plus points.
Nia Coleman added 15 points, extending her streak of scoring at least 15 total points to three consecutive games and her 15th contest in double figures this season, which leads the team. She also recorded a season-high of seven assists while pulling down eight rebounds.
Valencia McFall contributed 13 points, marking the 12th time this season she has scored 10 or more points, and was a defensive presence with four blocks

The Blue and Gold took advantage of eight first-quarter turnovers, converting them into 13 points while adding 11 fast-break points to keep the game close early. The Trojans, however, held a slight rebounding edge and carried a narrow 45-42 lead into halftime after edging MC 21-20 in the second quarter.

The Purple and White created separation in the third quarter, dominating the paint 14-4 and holding the Choctaws to 4-of-16 shooting from the field. TNU also capitalized on second-chance opportunities to build a 63-51 advantage heading into the final period.

MC mounted a late push in the fourth, outscoring the Trojans and going a perfect 11-for-11 at the free-throw line. Despite the rally, Trevecca's advantage on the glass — including 15 offensive rebounds — helped secure the 10-point victory.

Cheyenne Trotter led the Trojans with 30 points and 18 rebounds. Tatum Shaw added a strong performance with 21 points, including three 3-pointers, and contributed three assists. Jordan Gillies made an impact by scoring 15 points, with four of those coming from beyond the arc, while also securing eight rebounds.

MC returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 21 as it continues its trip through the Volunteer State, visiting Lee. Tip-off is 1 p.m. in Cleveland, Tenn.
