CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi College head cross country coach Joe Snyder unveiled the 2025 schedule for the Choctaws men's and women's teams on Wednesday, featuring a competitive slate of regional and national meets leading up to postseason action.
The Choctaws open the season at home under the lights with the Mississippi College Season Opener on Friday, Sept. 5, at Choctaw Trails in Clinton. The women are scheduled to run at 5:30 p.m., with the men's race to follow.
A week later, MC travels to Huntsville, Ala., for the Jacksonville State Invitational on Friday, Sept. 12, with races starting at 7:30 a.m.
The Choctaws return to Tennessee for the Rhodes College Invitational in Memphis on Saturday, Sept. 20, set for an 8 a.m. start.
October opens with a split-squad weekend at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayetteville, Ark., on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 8 a.m., as well as competition at Choctaw Trails, hosted by Belhaven University, later that morning at 8:30 a.m.
MC will host one final home meet on Friday, Oct. 17, with the Watson Cross Country Classic beginning at 7:30 a.m.
Postseason competition kicks off with the Gulf South Conference Championships in Memphis on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 8:30 a.m., as the Choctaws look to contend for a conference title.
Advancing teams and individuals will head to Lakeland, Fla., for the NCAA Division II South Regional on Saturday, Nov. 8, with the NCAA Division II National Championships set for Saturday, Nov. 22, in Kenosha, Wis.
The Choctaws look to build on a strong tradition as the men are on the hunt to earn a national qualifier for their fifth consecutive season, while the Lady Choctaws aim to qualify for the third time in five seasons.
