MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A total of nine Mississippi College cross country runners earned All-Gulf South Conference honors following standout performances at the 2025 GSC Championships, highlighted by the women's program capturing its first-ever conference title and Joe Snyder being named the GSC Women's Coach of the Year.
The Choctaw women led the way with six all-conference selections, including three on the All-GSC First Team and three on the Second Team.
Senior Lauren Wallace paced the squad with a fourth-place finish in 20 minutes, 45.59 seconds, followed closely by senior Bre Bell in fifth (21:05.66) and senior Taylor Benoit in seventh (21:20.65). The trio each earned First Team All-GSC honors.
Freshman Audrey Mayatte (13th, 21:42.07), sophomore Kinley Harris (14th, 21:43.70), and senior Catherine Wallace (17th, 21:53.31) rounded out the women's scorers, each earning Second Team All-GSC recognition.
On the men's side, three Choctaws were named to the All-GSC Second Team after helping MC to a third-place finish. Senior Cooper Parmer (14th, 24:30.3), senior Christian Balcer (15th, 24:34.34), and junior Baxter Friedman (17th, 24:38.46) each secured all-conference honors.
Following the meet, Snyder reflected on the significance of the awards and the team's growth over the past two years.
"I am extremely humbled to be the recipient of this award for GSC Coach of the Year. When I took over the program two years ago, my immediate goal was to build a coaching staff that was unified in our mission and vision for the program. My aim was to empower coaches in order to maximize their effect on their athletes. Beyond athletic achievement, we have a goal to build a team full of selfless, tough, and committed student-athletes who want to honor God through competition and be part of something bigger than themselves.
Chris Webber deserves all the credit in the world for how he has pursued that mission every day. Winning the GSC for the first time in school history does not happen without him."
The All-GSC recognition caps one of the most successful conference performances in program history for Mississippi College.
