CLINTON, Miss. --- Jeremy Haworth reached a career milestone on Saturday, March 22, earning his 300th career victory as Mississippi College baseball delivered a dominant doubleheader sweep of Trevecca Nazarene University. With 12-4 and 12-6 wins, the Choctaws secured their second Gulf South Conference series sweep of the season, improving to 21-9 overall and 13-5 in GSC play.

It is the best start since the 2018 campaign, when the Choctaws went 36-17, winning 22 of its first 30 contests.

The Blue and Gold have scored 10-plus run in game 10 times this season as MC totaled 32 hits in the twinbill, including 13 going for extra bases.

Jordan Evans and
JT Vance powered the Choctaws' offense in the opener, combining for three home runs and seven RBI. Vance launched two long balls, including a three-run blast in the first inning to give MC an early 3-1 lead. Evans added a two-run shot in the fourth to extend the advantage.

MC tallied 16 hits, with Vance leading the way, going 3-for-5 with four RBI. Evans drove in three runs as he joined
Bryce LaRocca,
Korey Cooper, and
Cade Gadman each collecting two.

On the mound,
Kyle Collet (1-0) earned his first win of season with three scoreless innings in relief. Collet fanned a pair and allowed three hits in the appearance.
Dylan Cope tossed two shutout innings to seal the win.

The Choctaws struck early again in the finale, plating five runs in the first inning, highlighted by LaRocca's solo home run and a two-run single from
Beau Kirsch. LaRocca finished 2-for-3 with three RBI, while
Bryce Capobianco added a three-run homer in the second to push the lead to 7-1.

Gadman provided another spark with a solo home run in the fifth, part of a 2-for-3 day in which he also drove in a pair.
Logan Shurden and Cooper each doubled as the Choctaws racked up 15 hits.

Gabe Garner (4-0) was stellar in relief, tossing 3.2 shutout innings, allowing just two hits while striking out four.
Jack Bell closed out the game.
