CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College baseball team fell 14-3 in seven innings to the University of North Georgia on Saturday, Feb. 8. MC moves to 2-3 on the 2025 campaign.

The Nighthawks (3-2) scored early and often as they totaled 14 runs in three and half innings on 19 hits. MC struggled to find base runners, amassing five hits in the contest alongside two walks.

JT Vance led the charge offensively for the squad as he totaled a pair of hits, drove in a run and scored twice. The Union, Miss., native put the Choctaws on the board in the fourth inning as he drove the first pitch over the wall in right field, securing his first home run of the season and the fifth for the team.

MC added two more in the sixth as
Bryce Capobianco singled to right field, plating
Bryce LaRocca, and
Alex Johnson followed with an RBI double down the left field line, scoring Vance.
Beau Kirsch recorded the lone remaining hit for the Choctaw with a double to left center in fifth.

The Blue and Gold used a platoon of hurlers on the mound as six arms saw action in the contest.
Caleb Peterson (0-1) took the setback in the start. He tossed two innings, allowing seven runs on 10 hits and added three strikeouts. No Choctaw reliever saw more than an inning in the decision.

Kyle Robitzch led the way for the Nighthawks, going 4-for-5 with four RBI. Andrews Opata paced the squad in RBI with five. Luke Earnhardt (2-0) picked up the win on the bump with six innings in the start. He allowed three runs on five hits and struck out three.
