Josh Brooks era, with the Choctaws' 14 three-pointers contributing significantly to their triumph in this neutral-site contest.
The game began with MC taking an early lead as
Brody Davis hit a jumper to open the scoring. Albany State kept pace with a three-pointer by Shakur Poteat at the 16:45 mark, narrowing the gap. The half saw frequent lead changes, highlighted by a series of three-pointers from both teams, including a pair from MC's
DeMarcus Powe. Cameron Evans of Albany State tied the game at 26 with a three-pointer assisted by Poteat at 4:25, but Powe's late jumper ensured MC held a narrow 31-28 advantage at the end of the first half.
