CLINTON, Miss. --- Mississippi College women's basketball was picked seventh in the 2025-26 Gulf South Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the league office on Monday, Oct. 27, with three earning spots on the newcomers to watch list.
The Choctaws, who finished sixth last season and earned a spot in the GSC Tournament, collected 54 points in the poll, narrowly trailing sixth-place Delta State (55) and just ahead of Montevallo (53). Auburn Montgomery (41), West Alabama (40), Trevecca Nazarene (33), and Christian Brothers (12).

Union University topped the preseason rankings with 10 first-place votes and 119 points, followed by Lee University (107) and the University of Alabama in Huntsville (106), which collected two first-place nods. West Florida (92) and Valdosta State (80) rounded out the top five.

The Blue and Gold also placed three players among the league's newcomer watch list with two holding familiar ties to the GSC.
Shauna Fletcher and
Valencia McFall previously played in the conference at UAH and Christian Brothers respectively while
Abigail Winslow transfer in from Pensacola Christian College.

MC opens the 2025-26 regular season in Mobile, Ala., as part of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and Gulf South Conference Crossover. The Choctaws take on Clark Atlanta University on Friday, Nov. 14 with tip-off set for 3 p.m. They conclude the Crossover on Saturday, Nov. 15 against the host, Spring Hill College. Tip against the Badgers is 3:30 p.m.
