BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- Tiara Abron earned All-Gulf South Conference, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday, Mar. 4. Mississippi College standout guard has been named to the all-conference team following a stellar 2024-25 season.
 
Abron, a key leader for the Choctaws, averaged 12.7 points per game across 27 contests, ranking among the top scorers in the conference and leading the team. She shot 43.8 percent from the field while contributing on the defensive end with 1.9 steals per game, which also ranked among the conference leaders. Along with leading the team in scoring and steals, the Senatobia, Miss., native facilitating the offense, recording 54 assists on the year.
 
The senior is the first All-GSC selection since Kim Davis in 1995 and the second in program history. She grabbed the first all-conference recognition for the program since 2014 (Alexus Stirgus, 3rd team All-American Southwest Conference). She is one of 14 players on the all-conference list.
 
Abron helped Mississippi College makes its eighth appearance in the GSC Tournament. MC has earned three tournament berths under head coach Greg Long and four since the program returned to Division II. The Choctaws are 15-13 on the season and 11-11 in conference play. With 15 victories this season, MC has secured its fifth campaign with 10-plus victories since returning to Division II and tied the most wins since returning, matching the 2021-22 season. MC totaled 13 wins last season. All three of those seasons have come during the Greg Long era.
 
Mississippi College takes on Lee University on Tuesday, Mar. 4 in the GSC Quarterfinals in Cleveland, Tenn. Tip-off is 5 p.m. central.
