CLEVELAND, Tenn. --- The Mississippi College women's basketball team fell in Gulf South Conference action on Thursday, Jan. 9 at Lee University, 72-46. MC moves to 9-6 on the season and 5-4 in league play.

Mississippi College returns to action on Monday, Jan. 13 as it travels to Nashville, Tenn., to face Trevecca Nazarene University. Tip-off is at 4 p.m.

It is the first time this season the Choctaws have dropped back-to-back contests.

MC placed a trio of players in double figures scoring led by the reigning GSC Player of the Week,
Tytiana Buckley with 13 points. It's the 11th time this season the Meridian, Miss., native has scored 10-plus in game and the team-leading sixth time she's led the team in the category.

Alexis Rowe added 12 points with 10 coming from
Tiara Abron. Rowe has six double-digit scoring efforts on the campaign while Abron has 12 outings with 10-plus points.

Keller Bigham led the team on the glass with five rebounds. It marks the seventh game as the leading rebounder for the Warren, Ark., product. Buckley and Rowe finished one board back of Bigham.

A low-scoring, first quarter, saw the Choctaws trailed by two points, as both teams combined for 18 points. However, the Flames widened the margin over the second and third stanza as they outscored the Blue and Gold by 11 points. Lee turned up the pressure, besting the visitors from the Magnolia State, 23-10, in the final 10 minutes.

MC saw success in the paint against the Flames as it posted 22 and picked up 15 points off the bench.
