LIVINGSTON, Ala. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team snapped a six-game slide as it swept the University of West Alabama on Friday, Sept. 27. MC (3-6) evened its Gulf South Conference record with the three-set victory.

Lydia Paulette paced the Choctaw as she garnered her 11th consecutive contest with double-digit kills - the ninth of the season – as she totaled 11. It is her 57th career match with 10-plus kills.
Meg Paparella finished second on the team with six.

A pair of Baton Rouge natives provided a strong force at the net and registered career-high performances on the defensive end.
Rhaia Davey, who registered five kills, collected a career-high eight blocks in the sweep while
Ellie Foco added four – a new high for the sophomore. Davey's previous high was six at Henderson State University earlier this season while Foco's previous best was two last weekend against the University of South Carolina at Aiken.

Ali Wiggins directed the offensive effort with 14 assists. The Enterprise, Ala., senior chimed in three service aces as well to pace the squad.
Samarin Kipple,
Londyn Bakeris and Paulette provided defensive support as well. Kipple led the squad with eight digs while Bakeris and Paulette added seven each.

The Blue and Gold put together long scoring runs in each of the three sets to gain its 11th consecutive victory in the series, including an 8-1 spurt in the contest clincher. The Choctaw held a 17-16 advantage in the third and final set, but rattled off four straight points to gain a 21-16 margin. After the Tigers interrupted the run, MC closed out the frame and match with the final four points with back-to-back blocks from Davey and Foco. Paulette closed out the contest with a service ace.

The victory is the eight sweep during the 11-match win streak and the third over the Red and White on its home floor.

Mississippi College returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 28 as it travels to Montgomery, Ala., for a date with Auburn University at Montgomery. First serve is set for 2 p.m. inside the AUM Athletics Complex.
