MONTEVALLO, Ala. --- Lydia Paulette and
Rhaia Davey logged double-digit kills as the Mississippi College volleyball team dropped a four-set contest to No. 22 Augusta University on Saturday, Sept. 21 to close out the Gulf South Conference-Peach Belt Conference Crossover on the campus of the University of Montevallo.

Paulette paced the squad with 18 kills – her 55th career contest with double figure kills and her seventh this season.
Rhaia Davey added a career-high 11 kills – her first double-digit performance of her career. Her previous high was nine against Ouachita Baptist University in the season opener. She added two blocks to her ledger as well, leading the squad.

Ali Wiggins notched a team-best and season-high 26 assists and gathered a team-best 11 digs. The Enterprise, Ala., senior has 20-plus dimes in five contests this season.
Caylin Pixley added 11 assists.
Samarin Kipple joined Wiggins leading the squad on the defensive end as she collected 11 digs.

The Choctaw claimed the opening set of the contest as it sought to log its first win of the weekend. The Blue and Gold trailed early in the frame, but strung together a 9-2 run to grab a 16-8 advantage. Six different Choctaw logged a kill during the spurt, including a service ace from Paulette. After the Jaguars tallied four consecutive points to narrow the margin, MC responded with 7-2 run to grab a nine-point advantage. Davey closed the door on the set with a kill off a feed from Pixley.

AU posted back-to-back 25-21 wins to take a 2-1 lead in the match and closed out the contest with a 25-9 victory in the fourth. It marks the second straight victory in the series for the Jags, who outlasted MC in five sets last season during the Crossover.

Gulf South Conference action lies ahead for the Choctaw, who travel to Huntsville, Ala., on Tuesday, Sept. 24. First serve against the University of Alabama in Huntsville is set for 6 p.m.
