CLINTON, Miss. The Mississippi College men's tennis team has reached a new height in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Rankings, securing the No. 4 spot this week, marking the highest ranking in the program's history, after starting off 7-1 on the season.
Leading the charge for the men's team, Alex Benichou Blanchard claimed the No. 11 spot in the NCAA Division II Men's Singles rankings. Blanchard, paired with Walker Ellis, also earned the No. 38 position in men's doubles.
Alvaro Saint Martin adds to the team's individual accolades, securing the No. 71 rank in NCAA Men's Singles.
On the women's side, MC checks in this week ranked at No. 32 in the country, with a current record of 4-3. Fernanda Cota and Ely Alas also made the ITA poll for NCAA Division II Women's doubles, clinching the No. 31 spot in the ITA rankings this week.
Both the men's and women's teams are prepared for upcoming matches as they face off against opponents at Embry-Riddle in Daytona Beach, Fla., on Saturday, March 9. Matches are scheduled to commence at 12 p.m. CST.
