Cleveland, Tenn.--- The Mississippi College Choctaws lost to the Lee Flames 75-47 on Thursday night at at Paul Dana Walker Arena. The Choctaws now sit at 12-12 on the season and 11-9 in Gulf South Conference play.
Rashad Bolden led the way in scoring for Mississippi College, putting up 12 points. Bolden has now scored in double figures in all 23 games he has appeared in. Cam Brown was the only other Choctaw to score in double digits with 10.
Jakemin Abney and TJ Wallace were the leaders on the boards for the Choctaws grabbing five each. The Flames won the battle on the boards 43-27 and outshot the Choctaws, shooting 49.1% from the field and 35.3% from outside the arc compared to 31.5% and 23.1% from MC. the Choctaws were the better team from the charity stripe shooting 83.3% to Lee's 59.1%.
J.J. Barnes led the Flames in scoring, putting up 16 points along with six assist and five boards. The loss drops Mississippi College down to seventh in the GSC standings.
The Choctaws are back in action this weekend on the road at Shorter on Saturday, February 17 at 3:00 P.M. CT at the Winthrop-King Centre.
