LIVINGSTON, Ala. — Rashad Bolden poured in a career-high 37 points, but it wasn't enough as Mississippi College fell to West Alabama, 78-73, in Gulf South Conference action Saturday at Pruitt Hall.
The Choctaws (6-6, 2-4 GSC) rallied in the second half after trailing 38-32 at the break, but West Alabama (7-5, 3-3 GSC) held on late, using free throws in the final minute to seal the win.
Bolden, who finished 9-of-11 from the free-throw line, led Mississippi College offensively, while Tremaine Dixon added 11 points. The Choctaws shot 42.4% from the field but struggled from beyond the arc, connecting on just 31.6% of their three-pointers.
Tyrell Ransom led West Alabama with 20 points, and Trent Stephenson added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the win.
The Choctaws will return to action on January 2, 2025, when they host Valdosta State at the A.E. Wood Coliseum in Clinton, Miss. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
