MOBILE, Ala. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team dropped its final non-conference outing of the regular season as it was topped in three sets at Spring Hill College on Tuesday, Oct. 15. MC moves to 7-9 on the season while the Badgers improve to 13-7.

The Blue and Gold were led by
Lydia Paulette with eight kills. The Tuscaloosa, Ala., native added a team-leading 11 digs on the defensive end.
Meg Paparella added seven kills followed by six from
Julia Sumrall.
Ali Wiggins and
Caylin Pixley combined for 24 of the squad's 30 assists. Wiggins dished out a team-best 14 with 10 coming off the hands of Pixley.

The Choctaw had two players hit .250-plus with double-digit attacks.
Ellie Foco paced the squad with a .300 clip followed by
Rhaia Davey with a .286.

In the opener, the two teams went blow for blow and sent the contest into extra points with the Choctaw holding set point at 27-26, but the Purple and White claimed the following three points. Airyonna Weaver iced the contest at 29-27 with a solo block. In the second, MC trailed by a narrow margin much of the set, but rallied and tied the contest at 21-all. However, like the first frame, a late 4-0 push gave the Badgers a 2-0 advantage on their home floor. In the final set, SHC scored the first five points and never looked back on its way to a 25-19 set and match-clinching victory.

The Choctaw return to action on Friday, Oct. 18 as it starts a six-match home stretch against Christian Brothers University. First serve is at A.E. Wood Coliseum.
