Choctaws Bounce Back in 22-Point Win Over Union

Jackson, Tenn. —- Mississippi College won at Union University 75-53 Saturday night at Fred DeLay Gymnasium. 

Thanks to four Choctaws scoring in double digits, including a 27-point performance from sophomore guard Rashad Bolden, Mississippi College outscored the Bulldogs 34-30 in the first half and 41-23 in the second.  

The Choctaws dominated the boards throughout the game, outrebounding Union 43-30 overall and winning the offensive rebounding battle 16-8.  MC also outshot the Bulldogs from the field, shooting 46% compared to Union's 34% and 35% from three-point range compared to 29% for the Bulldogs.  

Bolden was the leading scorer for the Choctaws with 27 points, six rebounds, five assists, and three steals.  Andrew Seager put up 12 points and led the team with eight rebounds, TJ Wallace had 10 points and five rebounds, and Cam Brown put up 11 points.  

Parker Applegate led the Bulldogs with 13 points and 12 rebounds and Layne Sarver scored eight points. With the win, MC improves to an overall record of 8-8 with a conference record of 7-5.

The Choctaws are back in action next week, taking on West Florida at home on Thursday, January 25 at 7:30 PM CT, and Valdosta State on Saturday, January 27 at 4:00 PM CT.
