CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College baseball team split its doubleheader on Saturday, April 30. The Choctaws took the opening game of the series 10-4 against Gulf South Conference foe, Union (Tenn.) University and came up short 11-5 in the series finale.

Prior to the twinbill, MC honored its 13 seniors.

Tristan Tigrett paced the Navy and Gold at the plate with a combined five hits as he posted multiple hits in both outings. Lee drove in a team-best three runs in the opening game with all of the coming on a home run.

Tigrett and
John Rice each notched three hits followed by a pair from
Lane Willis and
Lance Wade. Willis also added two RBI along with Tigrett.

Trailing 4-2 after six complete, the Choctaws exploded with eight runs in the bottom of the seventh. Headlined in the frame were back-to-back home runs. Lee supplied the first of the day for MC and Tigrett followed with a solo shot. MC gathered five hits in the frame as 14 went to the plate.

Bryce Lewis (2-1) picked up the win on the mound as he tossed two innings in relief and held the Bulldogs without a baserunner and struck out one.

In the nightcap, the Bulldogs, once again, jumped on the board early as they grabbed a 10-2 lead after two innings, including a nine-run second.

After allowing two runs in the second inning, Warren held the Bulldogs at bat over the next four innings as he allowed just two hits and a run the remainder of the way in his final appearance. MC plated its final three runs of the season in the bottom of the fifth as Tigrett collected an RBI and later scored in the frame following
Lance Wade scooting across the dish on a Bulldog error.

Bridges (3-6) was saddled with the decision in his final start as he allowed four runs – three earned – on three hits.  Â

Mississippi College closes out the campaign with a 14-34 mark and 8-22 in conference action.
