CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College baseball team fell 12-1 in Gulf South Conference action to Union (Tenn.) University on Friday, April 29.

Markarius Lee led the charge at the plate offensively for the Choctaws (13-33, 7-21 GSC) as he garnered three hits. It marked the third, three-hit of the season for the Southaven, Miss., native and his 17th multiple-hit outing, which leads the team.
Tristan Tigrett and
John Rice combined for the two remaining hits on the day.

Lee became the Navy and Gold's only run of the game as he collected his third single of the contest and was pushed across the dish on Tigrett's RBI-double in the sixth inning.

After the Bulldogs opened the scoring with a run in the first, they poured in five runs in the second frame to take a 6-1 lead and never looked back. UU added two runs in the top of the sixth and posted a four spot in the ninth. The Dogs totaled 11 hits in the game, including four home runs.

The Choctaws sent four hurlers to the bump in the outing.
Gavin LeBlanc (2-4) was saddled with the loss as he tossed 1.1 frames and allowed six runs – five earned – on four hits.
Brandon Gardner posted 4.2 innings in relief with five strikeouts and two runs on three hits.
Austin Huggins and
Clark Presley combined for the final three frames.

Luke Williamson (5-4) picked up the win on the mound with eight strong innings as he struck out 10 and scattered five hits. Walker Adkisson struck out two in the final frame of work out of the bullpen. Grayson Swanson led UU with three hits and drove in three runs. Patrick Music plated a team-high five RBI.

Mississippi College and Union wrap up the series with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 30. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
