CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College baseball team dropped the series finale as 14th-ranked Valdosta State University used a four-run, sixth inning to capture the series. MC moved to 11-19 on the season and 6-9 in Gulf South Conference action. The Blazers improved to 19-6 and 11-3 in the league.

Lance Wade provided the offensive output for the Choctaws as he posted three hits and drove in one. The Choctaws totaled just seven hits on the day.

VSU held a slight one-run advantage through five innings, but expanded its lead in the sixth headlined by a three-run home run from Jacob Harper – one of three homers on the day for the Red and Black. Mike Christopoulos and Bryson Gandy each added solo home runs earlier in the contest.

After the Blazers added an insurance run in the seventh, the Navy and Gold plated its final run in the bottom of the eighth with an RBI-single from
Markarius Lee. Wade got the scoring started for MC in the first trip to the plate as he doubled to left field to plate
Lane Willis. The Baton Rouge, La., native later crossed the dish in the fifth to draw the Choctaws to within a run.

Jackson Bridges (3-3) took the loss on the mound. The Tupelo, Miss., product allowed seven runs – two earned – in 5.2 innings. He added four strikeouts and two walks to his ledger.

Brooks Warren each saw action on the bump. The trio held VSU hitters to four hits over the 3.1 frames of relief with just one run allowed and four strikeouts.

Brandon Raiden (5-1) picked up the win. He allowed two runs – one earned – on four hits in 3.1 innings out of the pen. Kevin Tomas tossed four frames in the start. He allowed one run on three hits with a walk and three strikeouts.
