MONTGOMERY, Ala. --- The Mississippi College baseball team dropped a Gulf South Conference doubleheader at Auburn University at Montgomery on Sunday, March 13. MC (7-14, 3-5 GSC) fell 12-2 in the opener and allowed a six-run, first inning in the second contest to fall 9-3 to the Warhawks (14-9).

A trio of Choctaws recorded multiple-hit efforts in game two as
Lance Wade,
Markarius Lee and
Tristan Tigrett each logged a pair of hits. Lee and Tigrett each drove in a run.
Jackson Breedlove also notched an RBI in the outing.

Austin Huggins (0-3) allowed six runs – one earned – on five hits and a pair of walks in the start.
David Dunn saw 3.1 frames in relief and held the Warhawks to just one run on four hits along with a walk.
Brandon Gardner tossed the final two frames with two runs allowed on three hits with two punch-outs.

MC got on the board in the top of the second with an RBI-double from Tigrett – the only extra-base hit of the day for the team - and the Navy and Gold added another run in the top of the fourth as
Caleb Reese scored a Lee ground out. After the Orange and Black regained the five-run lead in the bottom of the fourth, Breedlove pushed Lee across the plate for the final, MC run with a single through the left side.

Luke Turner (3-0) picked up the complete-game win on the mound. He allowed 10 MC hits and struck out one.

A quartet of Warhawks recorded multiple hits with Jackson Ceman, Zach Dew, Brody Syer and Joseph Hartsfield each with a pair of hits. Syer paced the squad with three RBI.

In the opening game of the twinbill, it was a tough day at the plate as the Choctaws managed just two runs in the seven-inning contest. MC amassed seven hits – all singles – and left a total of four runners stranded on the base path.

The Navy and Gold logged both of its runs in the top of the third to take a 2-1 lead in the contest as
Matthew Priest scored on a
Lance Wade fielder's choice.
Jackson Breedlove also scored on the play as the Warhawks' short stop fired away on a throwing error.

MC sent three hurlers to the mound in the contest.
Joseph Cuomo (1-4) tossed three frames in the start as he gave up six runs – all earned – on five hits. He struck out three and walked a pair in the loss.
Gavin LeBlanc saw 3.1 innings out of the bullpen. He allowed five runs – three earned – on three hits along with three walks. He also fanned two in the relief appearance.
Clark Presley tossed just a third of an inning as he gave up a run on one hit along with a walk.

Andrew Cronan (4-1) picked up the complete-game win on the bump for the Orange and Black. He allowed just the two runs on seven hits and fanned two along with a walk.

Hartsfield logged a pair of hits to lead AUM as the squad totaled nine in the opener. Syer recorded a team-best four RBI.

The two squads close out the conference series on Monday, March 14. First pitch is at 4 p.m.
