CLEVELAND, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's basketball team had its win streak snapped at Walter Sillers Coliseum as Delta State University won the second meeting between the two Magnolia State-based programs in three days, 78-51. MC moves to 12-9 overall and 7-7 in the Gulf South Conference. DSU improved to 10-9 and 8-6 in the conference.

Javy Levy led the Choctaws with 10 points off the bench.
Kayla Bradley and
Alana Canady each grabbed a team-best five rebounds. The Choctaws found it hard to buy a basket from field as it shot 25.4 percent and just 50.0 percent from the charity stripe.

DSU used a 15-6 run to close out first 10 minutes of action. The Lady Statesmen kept the pressure on in the second quarter as it reached a 12-point lead, 29-17, at the midway point on a layup from Zyaire Ewing.
NeNe Williams cut the margin to single digits on back-to-back possessions in the last two minutes, but a 3-pointer from
Shanell Kitchens pushed the lead back to double figures at the intermission. The Lady Statesmen grabbed their largest lead of the game, 29 points, with just over a minute left in the game.

Zyaire Ewing led the Green and White with 17 points and 11 rebounds. DSU shot 42.1 percent from the field and posted a 71.1 clip from the free-throw line.

Mississippi College continues its three-game road trip as it faces Christian Brothers University on Thursday, Feb. 10. Tip-off at Canale Arena is scheduled for 5 p.m.
