CLINTON, Miss. – The Mississippi College Choctaws knocked off Auburn-Montgomery on Saturday evening, winning by a final score of 67-58 on senior day.
The Choctaws and Warhawks were locked in at a tie score 32-32 at the half after a back and forth first half of play. In the second half of play, MC and AUM remained tied at 50-50 with 8:56 left in regulation, before the Choctaws offense began to pick up, going on an 8-2 run over the next four minutes to take a 58-52 lead.
MC stretched their lead to 10-points, 67-57, with under a minute remaining in the contest, before closing out the win, 67-58 over the Warhawks, for the teams second win in a row in GSC play.
MC shot 24-of-52 from the field with nine made three-pointers. The Choctaws also finished with 20 points in the paint and 25 rebounds.
MC had two players that produced 20+ points on the night with Miles Millers going for a team best 21 points, while Galen Smith had 20 points in the win.
Miller finished 5-of-7 from behind the arc and also had a team best six assists. Smith was a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line and collected a team-high seven rebounds.
Judah Jordan netted 15 points on 4-of-9 shooting and a team high three steals versus the Warhawks.
MC improves to 7-16 overall on the season and 5-12 in GSC play, including back to back wins over GSC opponents.
The Choctaws return to the court on Monday where they will take on Lee for the final home game of the season. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. at A.E. Wood Coliseum in Clinton, Miss.
