CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's basketball team snapped a three-game, Gulf South Conference slide with a 75-62 win over the University of Montevallo on Thursday, Feb. 17. MC improved to 13-11 overall and 8-9 in GSC play. UM falls to 11-15 and 7-11 in the league.
 
The victory completes a season sweep of the Falcons and improves the Navy and Gold's record to 5-3 in the series.
 
Kyiah Julian led a trio of Choctaws in double-figure scoring with 14 points. It's the fourth time this season she paced the squad in the scoring column and the fifth of her career in Clinton.

Kayla Bradley joined the Greenwood, Ark., native in double-digits with 10 points each. 
Alana Canady grabbed a team-best seven rebounds. MC totaled 42 boards in the victory.
 
The Choctaws dished out 16 assists in the contest, which is the most since Jan. 29 in a win at the University of West Georgia. 
Kayla Bradley led the unit in the category with five.

Danielle Tennant each registered two blocks and helped the squad collect seven on the night, which is tied for tops this season.
 
MC shot 53.6 percent from field and posted a 42.9 clip from the 3-point line. It shot just 56.3 percent from the free-throw line.
 
The Choctaws never let the Purple and Gold in the contest as it led from pillar to post. MC used an 11-0 run midway through the second quarter to spur the squad to its largest lead of the game, 41-21, with 2:03 left until the intermission.
 
Montevallo pulled to within seven points with less than two minutes left in the third period, but the Choctaws responded as they extended their lead back to double figures with a minute until the final period.
 
Mississippi College closes out its 2022 home slate on Saturday, Feb. 19 as it faces Auburn University at Montgomery. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. Following the contest, the Choctaws will honor their six seniors.
