Choctaws Defeated On Road At Montevallo

MONTEVALLO, Ala. --- Mississippi College fell on the road Friday night to Montevallo by a final of 80-72, ending the Choctaws four game winning streak.

Mississippi College had four players with double-digit points scored on the night, with Justin Reid leading the way with 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting. Reid also totaled two assists, three steals, in 27 minutes of action.

Miles Miller, who leads the country in assists per game (7.9 per game), had five assists, while also contributing a second best 13 points on the night. Miller tied for the team lead in steals with three in the contest.

Tradavis Thompson was 3-of-7 from three point range, on his way to tallying 11 points and two rebounds in 35 minutes of action.

In nine minutes on the floor, Paul Smith knocked down 5-of-6 field goals, for 10 points. Smith also pulled in three rebounds, two offensive boards, and one defensive rebound.

As a team, MC had 44 points scored in the paint and produced 27 points off of the bench on the night. The Choctaws shot 28-of-52 (53.8 percent) and went 4-of-11 from three-point range.

The Choctaws fall to 6-2 overall on the season with the loss and 3-2 overall in Gulf South Conference play. 

Mississippi College returns to action on Sunday on the road at Auburn Montgomery. The two teams tip-off against one another beginning at 4 p.m. in Montgomery, Ala.
