CLINTON, Miss. - With Thanksgiving approaching quickly, the Choctaws took to the court against NCCAA opponent, the Southeastern Baptist Chargers. MC took off and never looked back, shooting 50% on the night and claiming a huge win 98-50.
MC started off with a huge dunk from Justin Reid to take an early 2-0 lead. A huge run of 11-4 that included big baskets from Miles Miller and Galen Smith gave the Choctaws a 13-4 advantage within 15:47 left in the half.Â
The Choctaws continued to dominate cruising to a 58-29 lead at the break shooting 56.1% from the field. Reid led the scoring at the half with 14 points.
In the second half, the Choctaws continued the fast-paced game with Reid, Smith, Miller and Tradavis Thompson all contributing for a 65-35 advantage with 15:44 left to play in the contest. From that point, MC outscored SBC 33-15 for a 48-point victory.Â
Players in double figures were Justin Reid with 18 points followed by Galen Smith with 13 and James Franklin with 11 respectively.
The Choctaws improve to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the GSC, returning to the hardwood Saturday November 26 for a 4 pm tip-off against the West Florida Argonauts.
