GAME 3: Mississippi College 9 | Lee 10 (10 inn.)
DATE: Monday, April 26, 2021
LOCATION: Olympic Field
RECORDS: Choctaws 15-18, 12-16 GSC | Flames 32-4, 26-3 GSC

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Mississippi College jumped out to an early 3-0 lead through the first inning and a half. George Farid got the scoring started in the first with an RBI-single that plated Duplechain. MC added two more runs in the second as Lane Willis scored on a passed ball and Jaron Harris pushed Logan McGrew across the plate.
- After Lee added a run in the bottom of the second, Duplechain extended the lead to 5-1 with a two-run home run that score Kennedy. Lee added two in the bottom of the fourth to pull within two runs.
- MC once again extended its lead – this time – with three runs in the fifth. Pickering drove in a pair with a triple to left center and later scored on a wild pitch.
- After the Flames added one in the fifth and sixth to pull to within 8-5, they took their first lead of the game with four runs in the bottom of the eighth headlined by a two-RBI, double from Justen Freeman to tie the contest. Colton Yeager put LU on top with a sacrifice fly to right center to score Freeman.
- Mississippi College tied the contest at 9-all on the first pitch of the top of the ninth as Scott belted his first home run of the day, and the second for the team, to left field and help send the contest to extra frames.
- After the Choctaws couldn't push the go-ahead run across the dish in the top of the 10th, Lee loaded the bases in the bottom half and a Ryan Beamish single to shallow left center ended the contest.

ON THE MOUND
- MC starter Bryce Lewis tossed 6.2 innings and surrendered five runs – three earned – on 12 hits with four strikeouts and one walk in the no decision. Dylan Marsh and Dustan Dille combined for two outs in relief appearances. Marsh allowed four runs on three hits with a walk. Dille walked a pair and fanned one.
- Michael Hendricks (2-1) got the win on the bump for Lee. He was one of five hurlers to take the ball on the rubber. He fanned two in his one inning on the mound. Alex Harper-Cook settled down the Choctaw bats for three frames as he allowed just one run on three hits. LU starter Chandler Ring tossed only 2.0 frames as he gave up three runs – two earned – on four hits.

INSIDE THE BOX
- Lee now leads the series 10-9 and has claimed the last three in the series.
- Scott's home run give him the team lead in the category as he's the first Choctaw to double-digit home runs this season. Duplchain's homer moves him into a tie for second on the team with Caleb Reese.
