Jaron Harris was named the Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday, April 13.

Harris led the Choctaws with a .750 batting average in the doubleheader sweep at Christian Brothers University on Sunday, April 11. The Mobile, Ala., native tied for tops on the team with six hits and drove in a pair of runs. Among his six knocks, he logged a double and triple, added a walk and swiped two bases. He also recorded an on-base percentage of .800.

The Faith Academy product holds a .362 batting clip in 19 games and has 21 hits, including seven going for extra bases, and ranks third on the team in stolen bases with six on the campaign.

Harris becomes the second Choctaw to grab GSC Freshman of the Week laurels as he joins
Lane Willis, who grabbed the honor last week.

Mississippi College returns to action on Friday, April 16 as it hosts Auburn University at Montgomery in the first of a three-game, GSC series. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
