HOW IT HAPPENED
- After falling in the first set of the match, 25-23, Mississippi College evened the match in the second set with a 25-16 trouncing of the Chargers. MC got up 16-12 on the Yellowhammer State visitors and rode a 9-4 run, including the final five points, to a nine-point victory.
- The Choctaws followed with a 25-22 victory in the third set to take a 2-1 advantage in the match. UAh stayed within two points most of the set, but back-to-back kills from Boros and Laurendine provided the cushion MC needed to pick up the set win. Laurendine and Nesbit provided a block to secure the final point.
- In the fourth set, the two teams exchanged the lead twice, but also saw nine ties during the 46-point set. The final deadlock came at 17-all as the Blue and White went on a 7-2 run to grab a 23-19 lead en route to the 25-21 match-tying, set win.
- UAH scored the first three points of the decider. MC pulled within a point behind a kill from Lexi Richards, but the Chargers responded with a 7-2 run to take an 11-5 lead. The Blue and White scored four of the final six points to clinch the match.
