CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team secured its third, straight-sets win of the season on Wednesday, March 10 as it sank Christian Brothers University (25-15, 25-16, 25-10) inside A.E. Wood Coliseum. MC improved to 4-1 on the season and 2-1 in Gulf South Conference action. CBU falls to 0-3 overall and inside the league.

Jamie Boros and
Kendall Platt along with sophomore
Lexi Richards led offensively. Boros posted a team-best eight kills followed by Platt with seven. Richards added six kills on the night. Junior
Lexie Laurendine dished out a team-best 16 assists followed by sophomore
Levi Lennard with nine.

Erin Davis helped guide the defensive effort with 12 digs while junior
Gwenyth Prenter and sophomore
Sloane FitzHenry led the charge at the net with three blocks each. Platt added a pair of rejections as MC totaled seven blocks on the night.

Five different players notched an ace on the night, led by Laurendine with three.

MC posted an attack percentage of .258 for the night while holding CBU to a negative percentage at -.036 – the worst attack clip by opponent this season.

Mississippi College returns to action on Wednesday, March 17 as it hosts the University of West Alabama in a non-conference tilt. First serve is set for 6 p.m.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Christian Brothers led early in the first set, but MC went out a 6-2 run to grab a 14-11 lead. The Lady Bucs stayed within a three-point striking distance until the Navy and Gold went on a 6-0 run to swell its advantage to 23-14. The Red and Black broke the run as it capitalized on a service error. Platt ended the set with a kill, off a feed from Lennard, and shut the door with an ace.
- For the second straight set, CBU jumped out early and the two teams exchanged the lead and saw five ties during the set. MC grabbed control behind a 4-0 run in the middle of the set to grab a 16-10 lead. CBU drew within five, but got no closer as the Choctaws finished the set on a 7-4 run, capped by a kill from
Mikayla Touhey off an assist from Lennard.
- MC opened the final set with nine of the first 10 points, including a 5-0 run to start. Lauredine posted a pair of aces during the run with a kill coming from Prenter and a pair of CBU miscues. MC's lead swelled to 15-3. The Choctaws closed the set behind an 8-3 run.

- Mississippi College picked up its sixth win and second straight in the series against Christian Brothers.
