CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College volleyball secured its fourth, straight-sets win of the season as it topped the University of West Alabama on Thursday, March 18 inside A.E. Wood Coliseum. MC improved to 5-1 on the season. West Alabama falls to 2-5.

Kendall Platt notched her third double-double of the season as she led the team with 13 kills and added 10 digs in the contest.
Lexie Laurendine and
Jamie Boros added six kills each to finish second on the team. Laurendine dished out a team-best 19 assists while
Levi Lennard added 12.

Erin Davis paced the squad in digs with 18 while
Stevie Nesbit defended the net with four blocks.

Je'Bria Green led West Alabama with six kills.

The Choctaws finished the night hitting .214 while UWA posted an attack percentage in the negative with a -.009.

Mississippi College returns to action on Saturday, March 20 as it travels to Union (Tenn.) University for GSC action. First serve in Jackson, Tenn., is set for 2 p.m.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Mississippi College held an 11-6 lead in the first set, but West Alabama strung together a run to cut the deficit to 11-10. MC responded with a 6-2 run to take command of the set 17-12 en route to a 25-19 win.
- The Choctaws took early command in the second set with a 7-2 lead. The Tigers pulled within four in the middle of the set, but the Navy and Gold answered with an 11-1 run to help close out the set.
- A close set to open the third, MC began to pull away behind a 6-1, giving them a 15-8 advantage. After the Tigers broke serve, the Choctaws regained the momentum and went on another 5-0 run. West Alabama pulled within 23-18 late, but back-to-back kills from
Gwenyth Prenter and
Lexie Laurendine iced the match.
