CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College baseball team split its Saturday twinbill against the University of Alabama in Huntsville. MC claimed the night cap with an 11-2 win coming off the heels of a 6-4, 10-inning affair to open the day.

Lane Willis and
Dakota Kennedy led the way at the dish with four hits each. Harris finished the day with a team-best .571 clip while Willis hit .500. Harris and McGrew led the team with three RBI apiece.

Jackson Bridges (2-2) took the win on the mound. Bridges tossed 7.0 innings in the start and allowed two runs on eight hits with a walk and four strikeouts.
Lance Wade (0-1) was saddled with the setback on the hill in the opening contest as he allowed just two runs – one earned – on four hits with a strikeout in 2.1 frames in relief.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UAH held a 4-0 lead through 4.5 innings of play, but the Choctaws cut the lead in half in the bottom of the fifth as Harris and Kennedy each recorded RBI-hits. Harris singled to score
Alex Hay and Kennedy scored Harris on a single up the middle.
- Mississippi College tied the contest in the bottom of the eighth.

Dylan Duplechain to draw within a run. A Willis sacrifice fly to left field plated
Ken Scott and drew the Choctaws even at 4-all.
- The Navy and Gold attempted to walk the game off in the bottom of the ninth as Hay and Harris both drew walks with nobody out, but the Chargers avoided the walk-off erasing the Choctaws' threat and plated two runs in the top of the 10th to claim the series.

Payton Russell pitched in 4.1 innings in the start. He allowed four runs on five hits with four strikeouts and three walks.
David Dunn tossed 3.1 innings in shutout relief as he allowed just one hit and walked a pair. He fanned two.
- Parker Henson (1-0) logged the win on the mound with the final 2.0 innings of the game. He held the Choctaws hitless and scoreless as he struck out one and walked one.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After UAH scored a pair in the top of the first, Mississippi College answered with four runs in the bottom half of the inning as Duplechain, Farid, Reese and Hay each drove in a run.
- The Choctaws expanded their lead in the bottom of the third headlined by Harris' triple down the left field line that scored McGrew and Willis.
- After MC tacked on another in the fourth, its applied two more in the sixth to cap the scoring. McGrew joined Reese with a home run in the game as he belted a solo shot to left center. Reese's home run came in the four-run, first inning.

- Parker Warren (1-1) took the loss on the mound for the Chargers as he recorded just two-thirds of an inning in the start and allowed four runs on five hits in seven batters faced.

- Mississippi College picked up its first Gulf South Conference win of the season with the 11-2 victory.
- The split moves the series record to 10-4 in favor of the Chargers.
- Reese's home run gives him the team lead at five this season.
