JACKSON, Tenn. --- The Mississippi College women's basketball team was swept in the season series against Union (Tenn.) University as the Lady Choctaws fell 63-32 on Saturday, Feb. 6 inside A.E. Wood Coliseum. MC moved to 3-8 on the season and inside the Gulf South Conference. Union improved to 11-3 overall and in the conference.

Mikeba Jones led MC with a double-double as she totaled 11 points and added 15 rebounds. The 15 boards tied a career-high for the Fort Wayne, Ind., native.
Alana Canady finished second on the team in scoring and on the glass with eight points and seven rebounds.

The Lady Choctaws shot just 19 percent from the floor and was 9-of-14 from the free throw line for 64.3 percent. The squad totaled 38 rebounds in the contest.

Jaelencia Williams paced the Lady Bulldogs for the second straight night as she recorded a double-double in as many games with 17 points and 21 rebounds. Shanique Lucas added 15 points.

Union shot 42.1 percent from the field, including a clip of 33.3 from behind the 3-point line, and was just 57.1 percent from the charity stripe. The Red and White grabbed 47 rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Union held a five-point advantage as the two teams combined for 13 points through the first 10 minutes of play. The Lady Bulldogs took a 24-10 lead in at the break.
-UU saw its lead swell to as many as 26 points at the end of the third quarter and it reached its largest lead of the game at 60-26 with 3:39 left to play as Sadie Knee converted on an old-fashioned, 3-point play.
