Commerce, Texas - The Mississippi College Choctaw's slipped up in game one of this weekends matchups at the Lion Hoopsgiving falling my final score of 72-65 to Texas A&M Commerce.
The Choctaws had four players who scored 10+ points on the evening and were led by
Tradavis Thompson with 17 total points on 7-of-13 shooting.
Zach Jones had a good night finishing with 14 total points, four rebounds and two assists.
Miles Miller led the Choctaws with 4-of-7 from three point range, totaling 12 points. Both Miller and Thompson combined to finish 7-of-13 from from behind the arc.
Brandon Boston had 11 points while having a solid outing defensively with a team beat six rebounds.
Lamont Berzat aided the Choctaws with seven assists, totaling his season best.
As a team, the Choctaws outshot Texas A&M 25-of-52 (48.0 percent) to 22-of-47 (47.0 percent) and 7-of-14 from three point territory (50.0 percent) compared to the Lions 6-of-19 (32.0 percent).
Fouls were a big factor in the Choctaws loss as Texas A&M Commerce went of to make 22-of-30 shots from the free throw line versus the Choctaws (8-of-15).
