CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's basketball team won its second straight as the Choctaws deflated Southeastern Baptist College, 93-37, on Saturday, Nov. 20  at A.E. Wood Coliseum. MC improved to 3-1 on the season while the Chargers fell to 0-8.
 
A pair of Choctaws scored in double figures as 
Ally Alford led the team with a season-high 21 points. 
Kyiah Julian added 17 points and added six rebounds, which was second on the team. 
Alana Canady paced the squad on the glass with seven boards.
 
MC shot 47.2 percent from the field, including going 6-for-19 from behind the arc. The Choctaws also connected on 76 percent from the charity stripe and grabbed 43 rebounds.
 
"I'm really happy for the win and I think we saw that we have some different scoring options. I love how we were really able to get out and apply the kind of pressure that I want to apply and also get out and score in transition," said head coach 
Greg Long. "We have a long way to go and a really tough regional match up on Tuesday."
 
In a contest that saw just two lead changes the entire way, Mississippi College controlled the contest throughout after regaining the lead at 4-3 in the first quarter. MC gained a 20-point lead with under a minute to play in the first and reached a 30-point advantage with a minute and half to play before the break, before taking a 52-17 lead at the intermission.
 
The Choctaws reached its largest lead of the game at 3:11 mark of the contest as newcomer 
Danielle Tennant scored her first points of the season on a fastbreak layup.
 
All 15 Choctaws saw action in the contest.
 
Mississippi College returns to action on Tuesday, Nov. 22 as it travels to Jackson, Tenn., for a non-conference and regional tilt with Lane College. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
