CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's cross country team finished fourth at the Watson Collegiate Open on Saturday, Oct. 9. MC garnered 89 points in the race.

Gabe Poulin was the top finisher for the Choctaws in the 8K race as he posted a time of 25:24.4 en route to taking fourth place among the 170-participant field. Freshman
Brock Kelly was the second highest finisher for the Navy and Gold as he took seventh place with a time of 25:45.4.
Cole Benoit finished just outside of the top 10 in the race as he posted a time of 26:02.4.

Preston Speed,
Wesley Gibbs and
Jake Russell finished fourth, fifth and sixth for the Choctaws. Speed posted a time of 27:03.0 in 34th while Gibbs clocked a career-best time of 27:05.8 one spot back of Speed. Russell finished 36th with a 27:08.8.
Elijah Araya rounded out the top seven for the Choctaws with a time of 27:20.1 in 45th.

Division II, University of Texas at Tyler took the team title. The Patriots posted a score of 75 points. Division I programs Louisiana Tech University and Southeastern Louisiana University finished second and third. The Bulldogs earned 80 points followed by the Lions with 85 points.

SELU's Bradley Makuvire was the top individual with a time of 23:50.8. UT-Tyler's Angel Contreras placed second with a time of 25:18.8 while Division III's LeTourneau University's Lorien Nightingale finished third with a time of 25:20.9.

Mississippi College returns to action o Saturday, Oct. 23 as it hosts the Gulf South Conference Championship at Choctaw Trails. The men's 8K is set for a time of 10 a.m.
