ARKADELPHIA, Ark. --- The Mississippi College men's tennis team closed out the Ouachita Baptist Invitational with a 5-2 win over Texas A&M-Texarkana on Sunday morning at the Ward Tennis Center.
The Choctaws improved to 2-3 on the season, while the Eagles fell to 2-3.

DOUBLES ACTION
 - The Choctaws got off to a fast start with wins at all three doubles matches.

Ben Jarvis and
Maksym Konovalov opened things with a 6-2 win at #3, while
Francois Le Tallec and
Shane Samyn clinched the point with a 6-3 victory at #1.
 -
Matias Ballatore and
Carlos Trujillo needed a tie-breaker, but closed out the perfect doubles point with a 7-6 (6-3) win at #2.

SINGLES ACTION
 - Jarvis opened singles play with a straight-set win (6-1, 6-3) at #6 to move the MC lead to 2-0.
 - The Eagles got their first victory of the match at #2 singles, but Ballatore responded with a straight-set victory (6-4, 6-3) at #4.

Brady McDaniel tallied the match-clinching point with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at the #5 position.
 - Trujillo dropped a hard-fought three-setter at #3, but Le Tallec closed things out with a 6-4, 7-5 win at #1.

 - The Choctaws are scheduled to play their first home match of the season on Wednesday (Feb. 19) when they host New Orleans at 1:00 p.m. at the MC Tennis Complex.
