CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi Christian University's men's and women's tennis programs were recognized for their achievements in the classroom as both teams earned 2026 Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team honors, while 11 student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
The ITA announced its 2026 Division II Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams this week, recognizing student-athletes and programs that excelled academically during the 2025-26 academic year.
Six members of the Mississippi Christian men's tennis team received ITA Scholar-Athlete honors: Matias Ruiz Broto, Mikayel Avanesyan, Charles Lefort, Mattia Ricci, John Noland and Lucas Cavalcanti de Carvalho.
Five members of the women's tennis team also earned ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition: Wambui Taylor, Emily Buchanan, Anna Hudson, Ann Cabot Stockett, Run Van Wyk and Katharina Weber.
To earn ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale during the academic year and be listed on their institution's eligibility form.
Mississippi Christian's men's and women's tennis programs also earned ITA All-Academic Team honors. To receive the distinction, teams must post a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2 while including all varsity letter winners in the calculation and ensuring all student-athletes are listed on the institutional eligibility form.
Across Division II, the ITA recognized 548 men's student-athletes as Scholar-Athletes and honored 70 men's programs with All-Academic Team status. On the women's side, 649 student-athletes earned Scholar-Athlete recognition, while 95 programs received All-Academic Team honors.
The honors reflect Mississippi Christian's continued commitment to success both in competition and in the classroom, highlighting the dedication of its student-athletes to academic excellence alongside their athletic achievements.
