CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's basketball team racked up their biggest win of the season with a 75-68 upset victory over #16 Alabama Huntsville on Saturday afternoon in A.E. Wood Coliseum.
The Choctaws eclipsed their win total from a season ago, improving to 8-12 with a 4-10 Gulf South Conference record, while the Chargers fell to 17-4 with a 9-4 league mark.

TURNING POINT
 - The Choctaws took advantage of a cold-shooting second half for the Chargers where they went just 2-of-20 (10%) from long range and was just 6-of-34 (18%) for the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 - The first half was a back-and-forth affair as neither team took a five-point lead until the Chargers took a 19-14 edge with just under 10 minutes remaining.
 - The largest lead of the first half came when Jack Kline scored his only two points of the night with 7:07 remaining to go ahead 28-19.
 - The Choctaws responded with an 8-0 run that was capped by a three-pointer from
Winceton Edwards to cut the score to 28-27 with 3:12 to go.
 - The Chargers would eventually take a 35-33 into the halftime break.
 - UAH opened up a seven-point lead in the second half as Kerney Lane knocked down a shot with 15:23 remaining to make the score 43-36.
 - The Choctaws again responded with an 8-2 run to cut the deficit down to 45-44 with 13:33 left on a three-pointer from
TJ Ben.
 - Ben gave MC their first lead of the second half with an old-fashioned three-point play with 7:53 remaining to go ahead 54-52.
 - The big shot of the night came with 6:07 to go as
Isiah Brown hit his first three-pointer of the season, putting the Choctaws ahead for good at 57-55.
 - The Choctaws would push the lead out to as many as seven in the final two minutes, leading 65-58 with 1:47 remaining.
 - MC iced the game away by going 12-of-12 from the free throw line down the stretch to get their first win over UAH since January 4, 2018.

KEY STATS
 - The Choctaws 48% (23-of-48) from the field and went 9-of-23 (39%) from the three-point line.
 - MC held the Chargers to just 26-of-66 (39%) from the floor and 6-of-34 (18%) from the three-point line.
 - The Choctaws are now 8-1 on the year when they shoot better than their opponent, compared to being 0-11 with a lower field goal percentage.
 - MC outrebounded UAH 36-34 and outscored the Charger bench, 28-17.

Winford Ross led all scorers with 23 points, going 6-of-9 from the field and 9-of-11 from the free throw line.
 - Edwards scored 14 points and knocked down all six of his free throws in the final minute to clinch the victory.
 - Ben added 12 points, while Brown scored a career-high 11 in a season-high 25 minutes played.
 - Sam Orf led the Chargers with 15 points, while Malik Cook-Stroupe was the only other UAH player in double-figures with 11 points.

 - The Choctaws will be back in action next Saturday when they travel to Alabama to face Auburn Montgomery at 4:00 p.m.
