Choctaws Fall on the Road to Warhawks

MONTGOMERY, Ala. --- The Mississippi College men's basketball team went on the road and took a loss to Auburn Montgomery, 93-59, on Saturday afternoon at the AUM Gymnasium.

The Choctaws fell to 8-13 with a 4-11 Gulf South Conference record, while the Warhawks improved to 11-11 with a 6-8 league mark.
 

HOW IT HAPPENED
  - The Warhawks took control early on, scoring the game's first five points and eventually pushing the lead out to 18-10 with 13:28 remaining in the half.
  - AUM would eventually take a 44-30 lead into the break.
  - They would continue to extend the lead, pushing the advantage out to 55-34 with 15:37 remaining.
  - The Choctaws could never cut into the deficit as AUM would go on to grab the 93-59 victory.
 

KEY STATS
  - The Choctaws shot just 25% (18-of-72) from the field and went just 6-of-21 (29%) from the three-point line.
  - The Warhawks shot 52% (34-of-66) from the floor and went 8-of-19 (42%) from long range.
  - TJ Ben led the Choctaws with 13 points, while Isiah Brown chipped in 10.
  - Zach Jones tallied a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.
  - Maharrith Jackson scored a game-high 17 points with 10 rebounds, while five Warhawks scored in double-figures.
 

NEXT UP
  - The Choctaws will be back in action on Thursday night when they return home to face Valdosta State at 7:30 p.m. in A.E. Wood Coliseum.
